Makook Smart Living, a Dubai Internet City-based, technology, media and telecommunications company, announces the first-of-its-kind platform to power a seamless connected life for consumers.

A press release said that the service in the UAE and wider MENA region is known as Makook, and delivers an integration of online media content such as blockbuster movies, combined with networking and remote control solutions such as energy efficiency, home automation, and personal media libraries. Makook's exciting new service, a managed service delivery platform, enables connectivity and services between people, data, and devices.

The Makook service will simplify and automate connectivity between people, their homes and their communities, personalising the way individuals experience entertainment, access their personal media content, and remotely control and access their living environments.

Nasri Tehini, CEO of Makook Smart Living said, “The Internet of Things is truly upon us and we are thrilled to be able to make so many technological ambitions an affordable reality.” Tehini continued, “People have for a long time wanted a simplification to the management of their complex platforms and devices, and a more relevant and enjoyable experience in a very crowded technology environment. We are now able to deliver on the promise of making aspects of people’s lives smarter and more seamlessly integrated.”

Makook is going to focus initially on entertainment, automation, monitoring and security, energy efficiency, and networked personal data storage, but has plans to introduce state-of-the-art applications such as e-Education and e-Health.

Makook Smart Living is launching the Makook service in the UAE, before looking to penetrate further markets within the region. The service in the UAE will be offered directly to consumers online and later in sales kiosks and retail outlets. This will essentially serve as an example of a self-standing and fully-featured Makook offering that can be replicated, all or in part, in any other MENA market.

In mid-September 2014, Makook Smart Living announced its exclusive agreement with strategic technology partner Prodea Systems, Texas, USA, to develop and deploy their innovative Residential Operating System platform and services in 19 markets across the MENA region. The company is currently engaged in a number of active discussions with the view to securing country and channel partnerships in the GCC and MENA region.
