According to Arabian Business, expat entreprenreur Sanjiv Dihman has opened "My Second Home" resort - said to be the biggest indoor pet resort in the world.

With plans to open a second resort in the UAE this year, the $2.7 million property is spread across 5800m2 in Dubai Investment Park 2 - with two-thirds of it indoors.

Arabian Business has reported that it includes a dog boarding resort and spa with 100 luxury rooms and 12 high-end suites, with flat-screen TVs and orthopaedic beds, as well as an indoor swimming pool and agility area.

Nightly room rates start from AED125 ($34) per pet for a shared ‘dormitory’ that sleeps up to four dogs, to AED350 ($95) for a single occupancy ‘presidential suite’.

Other options are available, with owners allowed to choose to have suites "customised" for their pets.

A dog daycare centre, first aid facility, a supermarket, and nutritionists complete the package.

It has been reported that a further $10 million development will take place in September which will result in an outdoor swimming pool and a dog beauty salon called Groomingdale’s Pampering Parlour.

Founder and chief executive Sanjiv Dihman told Arabian Business: “We got off to a very promising start and reached our first strategic goal of 200 members within a few weeks of opening in April - and two months ahead of schedule."
