Bombay Stock Exchange-listed CG Power and Industrial Solutions — part of New Delhi-based Avantha Group Company — has won a $14m (SAR52.4m) contract to design and build a high-voltage substation that will connect Saudi Arabia’s national electricity transmission grid to the Dumat Al Jandal wind farm, which is being developed by a consortium of EDF Renewables and UAE’s Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar).

In a stock market missive, CG Power and Industrial Solutions — formerly known as Crompton Greaves — said that the contract was awarded to its Mechelen-based division, CG Holdings Belgium NV Systems.

Last week, Denmark-based renewables company Vestas won an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to supply and install 99 V150-4.2 MW wind turbines at the Dumat Al Jandal wind farm.

Additionally, the contract included a 20-year active output management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement for the operation and maintenance of the wind park.
