Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised the 1st Independent Categories Excellence Camp’ at the DEWA Campus for Occupational and Academic Development in Al Hudaiba.
The two-day camp aimed to enhance and ensure DEWA’s readiness to participate in the independent categories in the 22nd Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP) in February 2020.
The camp is part of DEWA’s efforts to meet the requirements and criteria of the independent categories awards in the fourth-generation government excellence system, which is based on innovative foundations that promote concepts of excellence, creative thinking, and career motivation.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, emphasised that DEWA seeks to achieve the vision of the wise leadership in anticipating and shaping the future and harnessing creativity and excellence in DEWA’s daily work to enhance performance, efficiency, and service to the highest standards. DEWA also keeps pace with the huge technological developments by providing a motivating, creative, and quality environment that aims to develop the best creative solutions.
Al Tayer thanked DEWA’s employees for their efforts and contribution to DEWA’s progress in all fields, which has enabled it to become a role model in government work and to give it the status it deserves among the best service providers, locally and globally: “DEWA’s achievements are the result of collective work by its staff, and the recognition received by the winners is only another recognition from DEWA of the importance of supporting staff and their competence and encouraging creativity, innovation and excellence.
DEWA won six awards in the 21st DGEP 2018. These included Dubai Giving, People-of-Determination-Friendly Government Entity, Best Entity in Customers Happiness, Best Entity in Innovative Administrative Initiative, Dubai Medal for Best Field Employee, and the Unknown Soldier Medal.
