Atlas Copco has introduced further industrial power additions within the 35-135kVA power range to its augmented QIS generators portfolio. Six new models designed with modular capabilities to provide optimal performance in the most demanding conditions for both standby and stationary prime applications, such as data centres, healthcare, utilities and manufacturing.

These latest additions, the Kubota-engined QIS 35 and QIS 45 units with mechanical speed control, plus the Cummins powered and electronically controlled QIS 65, 95,115 and135 generators, have been developed with integrated control, simple installation, transport efficiency and minimum service downtime in mind. Benefits incorporated in compact, plug and play units that offer instant response, guaranteed performance and exceptional reliability.

Key features of the QIS 35-135 kVA generators include G2 CLASS (ISO 8528) in-line engines, with dual stage air filtration for increased engine lifetime, and dual stage fuel and diesel filtration is provided for units rated above 65kVA. On smaller models below 45kVA, an electric prime pump with fuel pre-filter ensures optimum performance in high altitude applications. In addition, the generators’ special fan and cooling system is designed to improve air flow and cope with ambient temperatures up to 50ºC

All units are mounted on a standard spillage free frame (110% capacity of the largest tank) with integrated forklift slots and are protected by a sound-attenuated and anti-corrosion treated steel canopy. Large door opening and panels provide full access to critical components such as the engine, Atlas Copco IP23 alternator (AVR and diode bridge), and the direct radiator cleaning panel − features which contribute to maximum service efficiency with routine maintenance operations averaging less than two hours duration and service intervals extending to 500 hours.

Optional mechanical equipment available for the new range includes hot parts protection, lifting beam and hook, galvanised extra skid, and a manual oil sump pump. For increased duration applications an external fuel tank connection with quick couplings is available as well as a 48hr/24hr high capacity fuel tank.

The QIS 35 -135kVA generators’ integrated control and power cubicle features compatible control via Qc2131(AMF)/Qc1112/Qc2212 (AMF and remote start) digital, full-package language controllers with Modbus RS485, available for SCADA integration. Optional electrical equipment for specific models comprises an earth leakage relay, a communication module to allow monitoring and control unit through 3G, Ethernet or Wi Fi connection, as well as expansion modules to accommodate an increased number of controller inputs and outputs.

With Atlas Copco’s latest QIS units everything is under control − the result of all key parameters undergoing extreme testing and documentation procedures for performance class, LAT, vibration, noise, fuel consumption, and water ingress. Guaranteeing suitability for all critical applications within the data centres, healthcare, manufacturing, utilities and retail market sectors.
